N'DAMBI CD Cover Illustration is getting allot of attention (so they tell me)
So, a few weeks ago boyfriend and I walked in to Amoeba music store in Los Angels and got whiplash from all the N'DAMBI (STAX R&B artist) posters hanging all over their walls. I've never seen my illustration all over the place like that. I mean one spot yes, but they were all over the place. I was like "my gawd, really!"At Work I have been told how they are coming across allot of people and how they love the Cover!

Spencer Day VAGABOND CD is done.
Although I finish the Spencer Day VAGABOND package weeks ago, and just posting about it now...I'm proud to have been involved with a gay artist and his wonderful music. At first, I thought it was going to all piano music, which it is, but not in that torch music way. More Dave Matthew meets Harry Connick Jr.
Although the original idea was to shot him at Union Station in downtown L.A., to go with the whole vagabond idea, at the last meet it was changed up and the shot was moved over to a local park. And not a bad idea, the feel was still of traveling musician...
Over-all, it was an experience...especially his hair (read previous post) go to my portfolio and check the package!

Hair issues...Really!
I love spending the day correcting the hair that god gave you !
No, Not really. The artist felt the hair number one, what god gave him no lookie nice, so I went in and made it look fuller...then he though it looked too full, stil no lookie nice...really.
So then I went back in and cut some out...thanks god for layers! I t was like the growing hair tree. Althoug a pain in the ass to do, I am proud of well it turned out.

FrankenBoot Posters!

My FrankenBOOT Poster for last month was one of my proudest! I wanted to create a photo shoot like effect, And my muse was the one only Lady GAGA! But I didn't want to go with the usual thang that we do for FrankenBOOT which is to make the featured artist look like the undead. I decided to design it as if Lady GAGA is in a Monster Feature Movie!
When I illustrated/design Gwen Stafani I went with these awesome Bubble gum colors.

Teena is done!

I am really proud of the work I've done on the new Teena Marie CD "CONGO SQUARE".
I mean, at first I was a little confused about why she named it "Congo Square" cause the sound wasn't too African infused. Then I realized that she being inspired by those who have played at CS, and New Orleans. So I decided to design a package that felt more of the french quarters, with flourishes, and warm rustic colors.
After all was said and done, everyone was really happy with the finish package! Everyone involved (including TM) were pretty much great to work with!
But its the way thing always goes. For every great package design expirences you always have to have one that sucks...in my case there were two.

Vampirella ReVamp Honorable Mentions!
Ok, its not as great as winning, but hey its my very first time doing this and I have to say that honorable mention is nice, and fifth on the page even better!Project Rooftop -PR is where cartoonists and illustrators bring their costume design skills to task in tribute to the superheroes and villains we’ve grown up with. This site is intended to promote excellence in costume design as well as foster continued interest for these amazing characters. I was so Happy to be part of this cause VAMPIRELLA is one of my favorite Horror Comic, aswell as EERIE and CREEPY comics!
I love this illustration, can I say that?
